My roommate, Kristen, picked up a 7-day detox kit at our local natural store in St. Augustine – Diane’s Natural Market – for only $28.99. It includes a 3-step process that was extremely user friendly.
Do you have to change your diet?
You don’t have to change anything else about your routine unless you want to. For the best results, though, you should watch what you eat and drink, so I:
- Ate as cleanly as possible.
- Cut out coffee for the week and drank caffeine-free tea, instead.
- Cut out alcohol (although I was guilty in having some wine one night!)
- Got plenty of exercise (I took only 2 days off during the 7 days)
What about icky chemicals?
What I loved about this detox, in particular, was the fact that there were no additives or unnatural elements added. It is simply a high dosage of fiber and vitamins/minerals that are meant to cleanse all of your major organs over the course of the 7 days.
Here are the ingredients in each of the 3-step courses:
Step 1: Deep Liver/Organ Cleanse
- Major ingredient: Vitamin C
- Milk Thistle Extract
- Burdock Extract
- Dandelion Extract
- Fenugreek Extract
- Garlic Extract
- Mullein Extract
- Oat Extract
- Oregano Extract
- Stinging Nettle Extract
- Turmeric Extract
- Bamboo Extract
- Alfalfa Extract
Step 2: Natural Acacia Fiber
- Acacia fiber
Step 3: Colon Cleanse
- Major supplement: Magnesium
- Cape Aloe leaf
- Rhubarb root
- Marshmallow root
- Slippery Elm bark root
Does it work?
After overindulging on vacation, my body was happy to simply no longer be pumped full of foods and drinks I wouldn’t normally partake in and get a healthy dose of sleep. However, I do think I notice an overall difference in the way my body feels.
It’s great to do a regular detox and flush your body of toxins and chemicals that naturally build up over time, and this particular detox was a great, easy way to do it!
